One of the most entertaining Tag Teams in Florida right now is Fun Size which includes “The Perfect Body” HGD & Little Ricky. Originally from Puerto Rico, but now reside out of Florida, they both have worked for many different wrestling promotions such as Puerto Rico based companies such as World Wrestling Council (Owned by “WWE Hall of Famer” Carlos Colon), PRWA, LWE, NPW and many others. Aswell as Florida based companies WXW Wrestling (Owned by WWE Hall of Famer Afa “The Wild Samoan”), American Combat Wrestling, REAL Pro Wrestling and BrainBuster Pro Wrestling.
Both started training to be come a professional wrestler in Puerto Rico, but at different times of their lives and with different trainers.
Ricky started training back in 2005 at the age of 15 by Isaac Rosario. Isaac Rosario has also trained former WWE superstar and former United States Champion Carlito aswell as Carlito’s brother, current WWE superstar Primo who is now one half of the The Shining Stars with cousin Epico.
HGD started training five years later in 2010 at the age of 14. Where he was trained by a former IWA PR cruiserweight superstar named Tommy Diablo. To this day Ricky & HGD still train and improve everyday to better their craft. Both now currently train at The Wild Samoan Pro-Wrestling Training Center which is owned and runned by WWE Hall of Famer, one half of the The Wild Samoans, Afa.
Back in Puerto Rico they were predominantly singles wrestlers. Only on a few occasions where you could see one of them involved in a Tag Team match. On the first day they started training with Afa. He was in the look for a Tag Team at the time and Afa spoke with them about the idea of being a Tag Team. Having being best friends outside the ring and having good chemistry in the ring together, it felt like a good move to become a tag team.
So they accepted Afa’s idea of becoming a Tag Team. Unsure of what to do, they wanted to come up with something different and unique. It wasn’t until one day, around 2 AM, they began talking about “Fun Size” candy. Just like that, like a scene out of a movie, they both looked at each other and yelled “FUN SIZE!” So having decided to go with it, since they were among the smallest guys everywhere they would go. At first, they had their doubts and unsure if gimmick was going to work but right now they are among of the top Tag Teams in WXW and are one of the fans favourites.
Having a job in retail and kicking ass in the ring came together when they first started working at Best Buy after other employees knew who they were without them saying a word about wrestling. Looking up to other wrestlers such as Young Bucks, Zema Ion, Trevor Lee and MCMG (Motor City Machine Guns) because of their unique styles of wrestling. The goal for Fun Time is to travel the world and be know as international superstars.
With all their charisma and talent aswell as all the fun they create, there is no doubt Fun Size will be known all around the wrestling world.
I personally have had the pleasure to get to know both Ricky and HGD and they deserve all the success in the world. They are two of the most humble people you could meet, have nothing but respect and admiration for them both. Would love to see them make it far in professional wrestling and be able to showcase their talent all around world.
