So every few days I will have some kind of “organisation” either call me on my mobile or knock on my door holding a clipboard. That alone can bother me (if I am having a busy day especially), but not angry. No, what brings my blood to a boil is how some of them do it.
The attitude. There’s passionate, and there’s pushy. I have little patience when I decline the offer and immediately the caller talks to me like I’ve done something wrong and they’re bringing down the sin I have done and will definitely cause. I have the right to use Company X as my water supplier, I have every right to decline your offer to redesign the websites of the domains I own, and I certainly have no obligation to explain to you why I won’t switch Internet providers. What sets me over is the attitude where they feel entitled to my stuff, especially my pocket.
Finally I hate the dishonesty. Honesty is one – if not THE – most important characteristic of a modern civilised society, and I’d rather weed out people who act dishonest.
To sum it up, thanks – but no.
