After first being shown professional wrestling by his cousin and seeing the larger than life personalities like Triple H, Goldberg and Batista, JL Gold immediately fell in love with it. Now heading into his tenth year as a professional wrestler and a staple of the QLD Professional Wrestling scene, Gold has his sights set to make 2023 the best year of his career yet.
Beginning his wrestling training in early 2012, Gold’s first trainer was Mason Childs, better known today as “Australian Wolf”.
Gold showed great commitment and progression all throughout his training. So much so, that it would be only a matter of months before he earned himself a chance to have his debut match against Jonathan Preston.

Wrestling quickly became an obsession for Gold as he would instantly catch the feeling of never wanting to stop doing it.
All throughout his career he would do everything to perfect his craft and never wanted to stop learning more. Gold took up every opportunity to train and learn at various seminars from talent across Australia and from around the world.
Being able to learn and gain knowledge from veterans such as Chavo Guerrero, Brian Cage, Tommy Dreamer, Ken Anderson and Will Osprey, has seen Gold grow both inside and outside the ring. Every opportunity he took has led to his longevity in the business, becoming a champion on multiple occasions and performing in every major Australian state.
Performing across Australia has seen him compete in many top promotions such as Venom Pro Wrestling, All-Star Wrestling Australia, Australian Wrestling Federation, Riot City Wrestling and Nightfall Wrestling Alliance, where he is their reigning Heavyweight Champion.
He would even earn the chance to feature in an 8-Man Tag Team match on the 2017 House Of Hardcore card in his home state of Queensland. As well as, compete in the dark match for World Series Wrestling on their Queensland show in the same year.
Professional wrestling has been instrumental in him finding another passion away from it in bodybuilding.

Just like he has in wrestling, Gold has put everything into his training and workouts. His hard work and commitment over the years paid off as he would get on stage in April 2022 and compete in the WBFF at The Star on the Gold Coast, QLD. Putting in an incredible showing and an achievement that saw him be rewarded for his efforts.
He has also begun trying his hand in acting where he has gone on to feature in commercials airing across Australia.
Looking ahead, JL Gold plans to make his tenth year in wrestling a personal best. Holding Japan in his sights, wanting to experience the great wrestling culture and hoping to have the chance to perform in.
Gold’s now decade of experience has him in good stead to showcase his talent and prove to everyone what he is capable of and accomplish more of his goals. It all starts this Saturday night, when in his first match of 2023 he will return to Venom Pro Wrestling’s “Bash at the Bowls” event in Beenleigh, Queensland. Where he will be part of the VPW Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat match.
