Wished the Oculus Rift could be incorporated with the PlayStation? Prepare for some good news!
The talk in the world of tech has indicated that a virtual reality headset to compete with the Oculus Rift will be created by Sony. This compliments the revelation that at the 2014 Game Developers Conference (hosted in San Francisco) an additional event will be presented by Sony called, titled ‘Driving the Future of Innovation at Sony Computer Entertainment’.
What indicates the most is the fact that details of the event are so little. However, who can possibly look past ‘innovation at PlayStation’ and ‘the future of gaming’.
In attendance will be Sony PlayStation Research and Development Director Richard Marks and fellow Anton Mikhailov. These two together have given us the PlayStation Move control as well as the PlayStation Camera for the PS4 where they have experimented on eye-tracking.
Interestingly, the top dog of Sony PlayStation software Shuhei Yoshida will also be in the room. This screams ‘big announcement’.
We should remember too that this is all talk at the moment, but the wide interest in the gaming and technology in VR has grown a great deal and Sony would be aware of this by now. There’s a chance that this is all a ploy to boost attendance however, and it is not the first time Sony has done that.
