Stel and Mark are joined by former Derby, Everton, Blackburn, Coventry, Birmingham City and ROI International midfielder Lee Carsley to hear about his experiences on both the playing and coaching side.
We talk to Lee about the early stage of his career, playing at Derby under Jim Smith and alongside some influential players such as Paul McGrath, Igor Stimac and Aljosa Asanovic.
We then delve into his time at Everton, discussing the introduction of Wayne Rooney and his importance to the current national team . Lee also explains how David Moyes guided the club from a 17th place finish to top 4 in the space of 12 months.
Mark and Lee later discuss their experiences working together at Birmingham and how first team players bonded with coaching staff throughout the club.
There’s also a quick chat about the Roy Keane – Mick McCarthy incident at the 2002 World Cup, plus Lee’s coaching experiences thus far.
Lee has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the game. A man well worth listening to.
