The Swing Shed: Volkswagen Day

[image src=’http://fnx.network/fnxnetwork/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/beetle.jpg’ width=’296′ height=’166′ title=’Source: Lorinda, FNX’ align=’right’]Hello to my blogging friends,
This past 6 months has been a hectic time for the VW car club I volunteer my time in.
We have spent a lot of our time ensuring our massive car day, that is well known throughout Queensland, is organised and ready to go.
I can’t believe it take 6 – 12 months to organise just 1 day in the year – I would understand the stress of weddings, yes I know they are completely different events but the timing of the day is very important that it will all run smoothly, but organising a massive VW car event is just as hard – I believe anyway!
[image src=’http://fnx.network/fnxnetwork/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/actionday.jpg’ width=’221′ height=’166′ title=’Source: Lorinda, FNX’ align=’left’]We had to organise the park booking, insurance for the day, sponsors for the club event, trophies, entry show bags, raffle prizes, food and drinks for the day, shades, BBQ equipment and most of all, transport to get it all there on time! Yes it has been a little crazy organising this event over the past 6 months and might I say, I’m glad that it is over. I am glad to say there was a massive turn out of  Volkswagen cars like Kombi, Type III Fastback, Beetle, Golf, Passat, Karman Ghia, Manx Buggy and Beach Buggies. I am a massive fan of cars and I am so glad I can be involved in such a wonderful car club. The people involved have done such a wonderful job organising such an important day of our club calendar. I am lucky enough to be the Editor of the Volkswagen Drivers Club of Queensland newsletter. Being involved in a club like this does keep you on your toes and I love having a hobby outside of work hours – especially if it is something I enjoy.
