The Rise of Roman Reigns

The two time inductee Hall of Famer Ric Flair has given acknowledgement that the future belongs to The Shield. We, the fans, are witnesses to a new war of the passing torch with the reunited Evolution teaming up again to take on the rising stars Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and the ever popular Roman Reigns.
While we are certain that the long term feud will be a spectacular exhibition of “The Attitude Era V The Reality Era”, no doubt comes to mind when we clearly see the ultimate climax to be Triple H V Roman Reigns. In this instance, Reigns will be esculated further into the big picture and possibly be next in line to hold the big gold belts.
Before we get ahead of ourselves we must ackowledge that The Shield as a single entity is a major player with the fans and have a secured place on the main roster. However we also can’t deny the fact that Roman Reigns has moved to the forefront of that scene… if The Shield was ECW, he is no doubt Paul Heyman. He is the defacto leader of the stable, and quite frankly he fits the role like a glove.
Dean or Seth have not taken any moves backward in terms of quality or talent. They both are exceptional performers continue to cut excellent promos and earth shattering choreography. They too have proved their worth to the company and their place in the WWE’s favourite stable.
But Reigns is the man that has a cold dead pan confidence that has shaped the attitude of The Shield’s collective personality. For the past year they have moved up the ranks to get to this sort of place so it is only appropriate that they now take on the Authority/Evolution hybrid super group experience. The appropriateness stems from the collected belief in the WWE Universe that he is going to be the next big thing… and we can only hope for such a fruition.
So if the ring talent and creativity doesn’t win you over on Team Mainevent Reigns… just take a look at the WWE Product he is: an athletically big guy with a very marketable face as a champion and a chiseled rugged physique to boot… this can win many fans over (especially FNX’s own Christina).
He is everything a top start should be. Except he is not nor treated like a main star… just the leader of the Shield… for not. Trips could bring him up and above in this feud.
It’s what is best for business.
Hunter is a smart business man, and despite playing the role of a boss out of control, under his out-of-ring position we have seen the rise of Big E, Cesaro and The Wyatt Family. Don’t even tell me the previews for Rose and Bo Dallas haven’t made you even a little bit excited for future storylines.
One day The Shield will have to break up, a sad cycle of wrestling life, but pushing the stars as both an entity and individuals ensures they will survive the transition when it comes.
Right now it appropriately looks like Triple H is listening to the fans and grooming Reigns to be the next fore front of WWE posters. He has a wonderful future ahead of him.
For now, Roman Reigns just has to play the game.

I’m not sure if Reigns is the leader of the stable, but he’s definitely the strongest in the ring. If he starts talking better he could slot into the leadership position, although he’d have to get pretty damn good to compete with Ambrose.
