It’s the official launch of Windows 10, right now upgrade eligible users are getting the installation files in the background as the new OS literally sweeps the world. Don’t forget to hit the upgrade button when you finish getting the OS… and for Home users theres nothing to remember; all upgrades are mandatory for you.
In China, Japan, Australia and other countries closest to the International Date Line Windows 10 users have already got the OS installed – such as myself, Sydney based Kane Oosty!
For the first time Microsoft has changed the way its operating system is distributed – not in a big hit – but in days distributed in several waves in order to improve the stability of the rollout successively. So far so good.
If your upgrade so you should not start immediately on 29 July, it’s probably because that your reservation will be processed in a later wave. If you haven’t had the reservation app show up yet, maybe there’s a few things you should check first.

[list_item]Do you have a copy of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1? This upgrade won’t work on Nanna’s Windows XP just-for-email-and-solitaire box… Only genuine Windows 7 Home or Pro and Windows 8.1 Home or Pro devices are eligible for the upgrade. That also excludes the RT platform, no 10 for you.[/list_item]
[list_item]Are all of your updates installed? Have you been holding off on Windows Updates? It’s time to let loose and get your machine up to speed.[/list_item]
[list_item]Are you looking in the right place? The reservation App is a Windows flag icon in the bottom right of your screen next to the clock, check the arrow icon too just in case it’s hidden. There’s also guides out there to help you enable the app.[/list_item]
[list_item]Do you have enough space for the update? You need atleast 6GB free for the upgrade download so it’s probably time to sacrifice a few games you don’t play anymore or maybe break up with Taylor Swifts discography.[/list_item]

We will have more on Windows 10 in the next few days so keep checking out FNX for more reviews as we make the jump.
