John Cena (c) vs. Brock Lesnar

A rematch of the 2012 Extreme Rules Classic, Brock Lesnar is an intense beast who is awesome to watch in the squared circle and previously at Summerslam has win the World HeavyWeight Championship – a feat only accomplished by 3 other superstars (Bret Hart, Daniel Bryan and Mick Foley). Lesnar’s first Summerslam ever was in the main event and his 2013 appearance saw him defeat CM Punk.
John Cena has six SummerSlam losses previously which is the most of any superstar at Summerslam, but has also picked up 4 key wins at this event in his 10 consecutive appearances (2004-2013) at Summerslam. Cena’s 2013 Summerslam saw him lose the WWE Championship to Daniel Bryan.
The heat really was turned up a notch at the last WWE Raw with an intense promo from John Cena, even hinting toward a heel turn, Paul Heyman has done a great job covering for the absence of Brock Lesnar at live events due to Brock’s limited schedule, Heyman has been so good that most people haven’t even realised Brock has hardly been on RAW at all.

FNX Staff Members Predictions:

Jake (@JacobTheRed) – Worlds Almost Finest PodcastLesnar – over Cena to give fans the shock factor they are always looking for
Kane (@Kaneosaurus)Co-Owner of FNX NetworkLesnar – I’m calling Lesnar so Daniel Bryan can easily recapture the title.

Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho

[image src=’https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3669/13796725804_34eb909fe8_h.jpg’ width=’200′ height=’300 title=’Bray Wyatt’ align=’right’]
Bray Wyatt’s shock loss to Jericho at WWE Battleground was a bizarre twist in this story but bizarre and Wyatt’s go hand in hand (along with holding the whole wide world in them). The Wyatt’s have laid out Jericho non stop since the last PPV thanks to the Wyatt’s playing the numbers game, But now that Luke Harper and Erik Rowan are banned from ringside, what other mind games or tricks will Bray Wyatt pull out to even the score with Jericho?
Bray Wyatt won at last years Summerslam against Kane in a Ring of Fire match, Talk about beating someone at their own game!
Jericho has some great experience at Summerslam previously, being one of the only superstars to feature in both an opening and main event match at Summerslam. His last Summerslam appearance was in 2010 when he represented Team WWE to defeat The Nexus.
Isn’t it nice to see a feud go beyond a previous face win? Perhaps we’ll get another instalment in this feud in the future?

FNX Staff Members Predictions:

Ryan (@fxryden)Co-Owner of FNX NetworkBray – I hope we get a Wyatt win so we can get a third instalment in this series, perhaps something crazy like a Hell in a Cell Match!
Tentacles (@CalcifersCastle)FNX Network’s Head of GamingBray – Y2J puts over talent when it counts.

Brie Bella vs. Stephanie McMahon

[image src=’http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/38/Brie_Bella_at_WrestleMania_XXX.jpg’ width=’190′ height=’250′ title=’Brie Bella’ align=’left’]
Stephanie McMahon’s last appearance in the ring was over 10 years ago at No Mercy 2003 when she took on her dad Vince McMahon in an “I Quit” match. This will be the 23rd match in which the boss’s daughter has been a competitor in. Her constant bullying, abuse of power and baiting of Brie Bella has resulted in a white hot “bitch fight” which promises to be stiff, brutal and entertaining to watch.
You’d expect the bosses daughter to get away with a few slaps and some hair pulling but Stpehanie has already shown at Raw via a pedigree that she is not to be underestimated and that Brie Bella better come in swinging strong.
Brie Bella is a solid in ring worker but with questions marks around how her sister Nikki Bella will be able to assist without being stopped by the henchmen of “The Authority”.
Brie Bella’s appearance at last years Summerslam saw her lose by submission to the Hart Dungeon hardened Canadian Natalya.

FNX Staff Members Predictions:

Aaron (@aurethios)The Martin and Shithead Show Brie – McMahon’s always loses these grudge matches!
Jake (@JacobTheRed) – Worlds Almost Finest Podcast – Brie – This probably gonna end up Nikki’s night

Jack Swagger vs. Rusev

[image src=’http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7052/13929588682_8158885e08_h.jpg’ width=’200′ height=’300′ title=’Rusev with Lana’ align=’right’]
The cold war style feud between Russian sympathiser Rusev and Jack Swagger is a classic tale of the patriots locking horns and along with the brains of their managers, try to prove to the world who is the true global superpower. Both corners have great managerial talent at disposal, Lana is a distracting, manipulative and calculating mind who seems to be able to focus the  primal brute force of Rusev and get results and crush opponents convincingly. Her patriotism to the Russian Federation and its leader Vladimir Putin is iron clad and there is no chance of swaying her, The only option for Swagger is to take Rusev down the hard way. This is Rusev’s first ever appearance at Summerslam
Zeb Colter is a real patriot American and has seen combat in the past protecting his country from all enemies foreign and domestic, Brought up on a duck and cover approach to life, living in fear of the Russians, his passion for protecting the beliefs and values of grass roots USA is shown every time as he pledges allegiance along with the crowd as they pronounce “We the People!”
Jack Swagger hasn’t appeared at Summerslam since 2009 when he was defeated by MVP, wow that was a long time ago!

FNX Staff Members Predictions:

Ryan (@fxryden) – Co-Owner of FNX Network – Rusev – Because WWE stole my gimmick and Rusev just crushes everyone… thats his gimmick and job!
Aaron (@aurethios) – The Martin and Shithead Show Rusev – These America angles haven’t gone our way since Sgt Slaughter and Hogan LOL

[image src=’https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2915/13913690855_8ce76c0298_c.jpg’ width=’190′ height=’325′ title=’Paige and AJ Lee’ align=’left’]

AJ Lee (c) vs. Paige

This great feud between two of the best female in ring workers in the WWE right now should be a highlight of the show, AJ Lee’s last Summerslam appearance was in 2013 with Big E Langston in a mixed tag team match against Dolph Ziggler and Kaitlyn. AJ has moved onto bigger and better things pursuing her solo career becoming champion and then taking a leave of absence to marry former WWE Superstar CM Punk, AJ is one of the most popular female wrestlers in the WWE right now and is voted by many sources to be the hottest diva on the roster and even better for male fans is the fact she ins in a match with another highly rated diva in the looks department  – Paige. This is Paige’s debut at Summerslam for the graduate of the WWE’s NXT developmental system, for a wrestler to have the impact she has had in such a short amount of time reflects on the skill and potential she possesses and the faith that WWE has in her to become a possible future hall of famer as the “Anti Diva”

FNX Staff Members Predictions:

Kane (@Kaneosaurus) – Co-Owner of FNX Network – AJ – over with the crowd and WWE may see it as a way to kill off the CM Punk chants.
Jake (@JacobTheRed) – Worlds Almost Finest Podcast – AJ – Basically I want them to continue 😉

Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns

[image src=’http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/46/Roman_Reigns_November_2013.jpg’ width=’200′ height=’225′ title=’Roman Reigns’ align=’right’]
In 2003 a baby faced Randy Orton debuted at his first WWE Pay Per View at Summerslam and 10 years on at Summerslam 2013, Randy Orton cashed in his Money in the Bank Contract to beat Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship with Triple H has the special guest referee. Randy Orton has a lot of pedigree about him being the son of Cowboy Bob Orton and already a multi time WWE and World Heavyweight champion. I respect Randy for what he has achieved but I can’t help but be a bit bored with him, his promo’s are predictable and alike from feud to feud, he has suffered the 5 moves of doom syndrome like many top stars have these days and really hasn’t had a “stellar” feud in a while.
Roman Reigns was trying to fend off Mark Henry and Big Show to protect his fellow members of The Shield, particularly Dean Ambrose who was facing RVD for the US Title at the very same show in 2013, Since then he has been on a rocket to the heights points of a push, his momentum right now is massive and many stars, websites and critics are tapping him on the shoulder as their choice for future World Heavyweight Champion material, what an honour for a man so young. Everyone respects Romans appreciation of the fans, his solid, flawless in ring work, his willingness to get hardcore and use the environment around him and head into the crowd for a good old brawl. He has the look and is isn’t too shabby on the microphone and is definitely a talent to watch this year and he grows and gets pushed to the moon – and deservingly so.

FNX Staff Members Predictions:

Tentacles (@CalcifersCastle)– FNX Network’s Head of Gaming – Roman – Kane will turn on Orton
Jake (@JacobTheRed) – Worlds Almost Finest Podcast – Roman – Triple H is waiting in the wings

The Miz (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

[image src=’http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/da/Dolph_Ziggler_Milwaukee_090908.jpg’ width=’190′ height=’250′ title=’Dolph Ziggler’ align=’left’]
Dolph Ziggler appeared in 2013’s Summerslam alongside Kaitlyn in a mixed tag team match vs Big E and AJ Lee, Ziggler has to be one of the most exciting, solid and versatile talents inside the ring right now in the WWE, He hasn’t been pushed lately as much as I think he deserves, he really does carry that Mr Perfect style, flair and look about him, but doesn’t play on that at all and really is his own legacy and a wrestler I think will be good enough to be a household name given the right storyline and push.
The Miz’s last Summerslam appearance was in 2012 when he defended his Intercontinental title against Rey Mysterio and since then he has gone up and down in pushes and storyline and has been in and out of the business, His passion for the business is undeniable but there is just something lacking with The Miz lately and WWE needs to address it before he becomes extremely stale and unsalvageable.
Dolph will more than likely carry this match and will be a matter of how much The Miz can keep up with the insane level of cardio fitness, athleticism and stamina that Dolph possesses, It’s a shame Maryse doesn’t work for the company anymore, she’d be fantastic to add into Miz’s cocky hollywood gimmick, having the blonde trophy wife could really top it off.

FNX Staff Members Predictions:

Ryan (@fxryden) – Co-Owner of FNX Network – Ziggler – Does anyone take Miz seriously as a champion?
Tentacles (@CalcifersCastle)– FNX Network’s Head of Gaming – Miz– Because WWE writers are idiots

Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins

[image src=’http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d2/Ambrose_USA_Champion.jpg/640px-Ambrose_USA_Champion.jpg’ width=’190′ height=’250′ title=’Dean Ambrose’ align=’right’]
Dean Ambrose lost to Rob Van Dam for the US title at Summerslam 2013, at the time Seth Rollins was in Dean Ambrose’s corner as both men were part of the long lasting Shield faction. Now that The Shield has suffered the fate of almost every WWE tag team in history, the inevitable break up and solo feud, The two young talents who WWE is banking their future on are about to head to head. What an opportunity to steal the show they have here. I would hope that both men are gonna go all out at Summerslam and give us a hard hitting, brawling, blood, sweat and tears affair to remember and to set social media and the fans watching live alight.
Dean Ambrose has been touted as being quite Steve Austin like and I can see what they mean, the reckless, disregard for himself, focused and willing to do anything it takes simple brawler is a great talent and someone people will pay money to watch. Rollins is no sloth himself, with a wealth of international experience and indie circuit dues behind him, Rollins was the face of NXT and has graduated with honours and hasn’t put a foot wrong yet, He has a great look and stands out as a man who shouldn’t be crossed and has a great mix of hand to hand and showmanship move sets which combine new and old school wrestling.

FNX Staff Members Predictions:

Jake (@JacobTheRed) – Worlds Almost Finest Podcast – Rollins – I think WWE has something up their sleeve for this feud and it needs to keep going.
Aaron (@aurethios) – The Martin and Shithead Show Rollins – Rollins is catching good heat and this angle is building up Ambrose too much to end.

[image src=’https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3705/13953260634_8d78235e42_c.jpg’ width=’190′ height=’300′ title=’Cesaro’ align=’left’]

Dark Match

Cesaro vs. Rob Van Dam

RVD won the title from Dean Ambrose at Summerslam 2013, It’s hard to believe RVD has been back a year, the long break he took really made his presence feel sparse and kind of hampered his momentum from his return from TNA. Rob is a great name and is still extremely popular and sells a lot of tickets especially to those who still worship the now defunct ECW. Cesaro’s last Summerslam appearance was in 2012 against Santino Marella where he won the US Championship, He’s come from a swiss rugby player, to a Paul Heyman guy and now has found his true calling as The King of Swing.
Cesaro has been my favourite wrestler for about the past 10 years and to see him in the WWE is great, I really hope the WWE eventually give him the World Heavyweight Championship as i think he has it all, oozes class and is so damn impressive with his feats of strength. A dark match on a show like this really doesn’t do his level of talent justice, but now that the WWE Network is world wide and affordable the world will get to see him anyway.

FNX Staff Members Predictions:

Ryan (@fxryden) – Co-Owner of FNX Network – Cesaro – He is simply the best wrestler in the world.
Kane (@Kaneosaurus) – Co-Owner of FNX Network – Cesaro – He needs more steam as he’s losing his grip on the crowd.
