Android Marshmallow, the next version of the operating system for Google smartphones and tablets, has a few new features and improvements. Google has improved the language assistant Google Now, the Smartwatch Android operating system Wear and brings the new photo service “Google Photos” and the anticipated payment service “Android Pay”.
Android Marshmallow puts strong focus on a longer battery life. Background processes are terminated automatically when the device is not used or when performance is highly maxed out. Through “Project Doze” Android 6 supports the new USB standard Type-C, which enables three to five times faster data transfers.
Google won’t be releasing the new Android version till much later in the year. But for now anyone with a Nexus 5, 6 or 9 and the Nexus Player can install the pre-release preview with the Nexus Root Toolkit. But remember, your device will be flashed, all data will be lost. Happy Experimenting!
