This weekend on March 18th, Dana ‘Deadly’ Coolwell will make his international debut as he features on the “Hardcore Boxing in Dubai” event at Dubai’s Agenda Arena.

On a card headlined by Lucas Browne vs Jarrell Miller, Coolwell (9-2) fighting out of Beerwah, Queensland, will take on the undefeated Hasibullah Ahmad (15-0).

In what is a massive opportunity for Coolwell to make his mark on a big stage, open up more potential overseas opportunities and continue the rise of Australian boxing.

Coolwell faced a lot of adversity growing up. From begging to drink alcohol at 12, being exposed to drugs, and mourning the loss of his father. For everything he has gone through it’s a testament to his character how he has overcome and found an outlet through boxing which helped change everything for him.

Trained by Steve Pitt at the Hinterland Boxing Club, Coolwell never misses a training session.

Coolwell’s dedication to success is second to none. As he will often wake up at 3am to do a run before he heads to work at 4.30am. When finished work, he heads to the gym around 4pm, finishes training at 7pm, and repeats it all again the next day.

Not only is Coolwell a talented athlete, but an amazing father and role model. As he has proved that by never giving up and through resiliency you can get through anything.

With his incredible work ethic and commitment, there is no stopping what Coolwell is capable of. No doubt 2023 will be another big year in the career of Dana “Deadly” Coolwell, and with more big fights in his future. It all begins this weekend, as he heads to Dubai proudly representing himself, his family, the Indigenous community and Australian Boxing.
