[dropcaps style=’2′]It’s the interviewer that won Mark Vandy’s heart. But being a face that you could come home to isn’t the only quality of Renee Young, she is without a doubt excellent in her backstage interviewer role.[/dropcaps]

Source: WWE’ align=’right’]We certainly give praise to the in ring fighters on FNX, we were all about Cesaro last week for instance. But sometimes we forget about those that pin the show together.
Where others will mention how the wrestler was just attacked or re-stating the obvious of “You have a match up next!”, Renee actually does a quality job of setting up wrestlers for their promos and helps guide them home while offering a good wall to bounce on. She keeps her questions simple but relevant and this lays a solid foundation for the segment she is involved in.
She is excellent in her craft and could be the modern equivalent of Mean Gene… Young has the timing, facial expressions and an air where you know how she can big up a face and wind up a heel.
On commentary, she is also a fantastic worker. While I would not put her on as lead commentator yet, she would be quite effective as a JBL style pundit. Her commentary on NXT is sometimes impressive, sometimes not so much (everyone has bad days) and it really depends on the chemistry she has with the others… but pin her to a very experienced commentator to provide guidance who knows exactly when to let Renee Young do her Renee Young thing and you have a winning duo.
Still, as backstage interviewer she is certainly adding to the WWE brand on a positive note and we wish her all the best.
