As we move into the final stretch of the year with Brock Lesnar now reigning as WWE World Heavyweight Champion, who will be the man to dethrone the 1 behind 21-1 as well as the Kryptonite to SuperCena?!
In this article, I’m going to touch upon the five options I would like to see most as the next superstar in the coming era!
5. Seth Rollins
–He seems like the front runner seeing as he’s the one holding the virtual guaranteed title victory in the MITB briefcase. However, as a guy that believes Seth Rollins will be a star in the very, very near future … he’s not the man fit to slay the monster that is Brock Lesnar. While Seth is a multifaceted and well-rounded wrestler with a plethora of high flying moves as well as quick strikes, he would be a tough match for The Beast Incarnate but his lack of power game would spell disaster.
4. Roman Reigns
–A former teammate of Seth Rollins and the seeming front runner to be the next mega babyface the WWE is about to produce doesn’t get the OK from me to be THE GUY just yet. While he’s got the look and is usually over with the crowd, last night proved he’s not ready. While you can blame his opponent for the snooze of a match, Reigns has become a one trick pony pretty quick in his young career. Seeing him and Brock go back-to-back in matches, it’s obvious Brock would make light work of The Roman Empire and squash any hope of him being a future megastar. Give him a couple years to find his niche and we’ll be golden.
3. Dean Ambrose
–Whoa, who would have guessed!? The third and seemingly most ready person to be the guy to dethrone The Beast still isn’t quite ready. He’s the most total package of the three with his mic skills, a solid strike game and is quick enough to avoid the absolute death grip of Brock Lesnar. I see Ambrose becoming a major player by the year’s end in the lower levels of the main event scene and proving his grit against the top tier talent in WWE.
2. Triple H
–The man that hired Brock Lesnar to destroy John Cena at Summerslam could very well be the man to be the one to take the championship off him as well. As a well known politician in the backstage as well as the heir to the WWE Throne, could The Game be the one to usher in the next era? He’s got the credentials to do so and is believable but I feel he knows his time has come and gone and it’s time to build for the future. With the way he’s been building NXT, he knows what he’s doing and realizes it’s time to step aside. On the other hand, it IS Triple H and we all know how he likes to stroke his ego.
And finally, the person I think will defeat Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship…

The Swiss Superman, Cesaro

1. Cesaro
–He’s THE total package. The look. The mic skills. The ring skills. He’s over with the crowd. He moves tons of merch. He’s foreign. And most importantly … He’s a former Paul Heyman Guy! That’s right, The Swiss Superman is my pick to go toe-to-toe with Brock Lesnar and usher in the next era of WWE lead by non-WWE guys (Cesaro, Ambrose, Rollins, Sami Zayn, the recently signed Kevin Steen and Adrian Neville). These guys are some of the most complete all around wrestlers in the world and will bring in waves of fans with captivating feuds with excellent promos and even better matches.
