Haim Saban is a recognisable name for the kids of the 1990’s, one show in particular began with an intense guitar riff and fast paced neon coloured intros of a group of misfit teenagers who were out to save the world. Now, kids of that generation are leaving University, building their careers and possibly starting their own families… but even they will mark out to the following announcement.
The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers are back… again, on the big screen.
Saban and Lionsgate Studio (makers of The Hunger Games, Twilight and Divergent) announced a master plan and collaboration between the two entities to concieve a new live action film based on the beloved 90’s kids show over 20 years after the first airing of the pilot episode.
Saban said that he is confident in proceeding with Lionsgate Studios is the perfect home for elevating the Power Rangers brand to the next level. He went on to say that they have the vision, marketing hungerness and outstanding track record in launching breakthrough hits as mentioned above.
For now we are left with many questions, will it feature some of the original cast? Will it be canon with the other series? Will Zordon be Windows 8 compatible?
I’m excited, we willdefinitely have to follow up this story as news develops.
