[dropcaps style=’2′]The last time we saw The Rock in a WWE match, he was getting his guts beaten out of him in the flagship showcase of WrestleMania 29 when he dropped the WWE title to John Cena in a gigantically successful PPV. He profited, for both himself and the organisation that first made him a celebrated icon.[/dropcaps]
In the plan was a storyline for him to return the following evening on Monday Night Raw and run a plot with Brock Lesnar that would prompt a main event bout between the two at Wrestlemania 30 in New Orleans.
That plan did not turn out, and The Brahma Bull flew home to deal with his wounds and showed up for a promo at WMXXX alongside with Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
So what now? What future does The Rock have in the WWE.
He has not discounted a come back to the ring, however he says its size (meaning the event’s importance and the amount of zeros in his pay cheque) would need to equivalent or surpass his 2013 battle. For now he still works in the WWE… but just focuses on film.

The Lesnar match would have been huge enough to return for. There is an inquiry to be considered in regards to whether WWE would really need to pay what it would cost to push an alternate Rock match considering the organization is in line to lose around $50 million in the not so distant future because of the WWE Network’s start up costs…
…though having said that, if the Network isn’t performing at the level its required to by WrestleMania 31, perhaps he would be the right superstar to help offer potential subscribers.
