Super Bowl XLVIII was bound to be one of the most memorable title clashes in NFL history… this was determined even before the game started. You had the location, the weathers unforgiving randomness, the best offense in the game against the best defense in the game. An eternal jewel in the sports crown, indeed.
Denver fell behind after an errant snap forced a safety on the first play of the game and the team was never able to recover. The game felt more like the Broncos’ Super Bowls of the 1980s, when Denver got blown out by NFC stalwarts, rather than the victorious trips in the 1990s.
It was an absolute domination, but thats Super Bowls for you… on paper it should of been close, but it wasn’t and let’s face it, no matter who you support it would have been great if the game felt more level rather than a hard fist on a flimsy pinky.
Still… the Seattle victory over Denver is one of the most historic victories in the Super Bowl’s history. Unfortunately we see Peyton Manning losing another Super Bowl, this time in a place of significance to family.
Well done Seahawks either way, you certainly earned it.
